Growing Communities - local food and social justice

This event will involve a day of workshops and discussions, followed by a social evening of films, food and music and will take place on Thursday 20 June from 2pm.

This is a chance to meet others working in community food and social justice movements in Glasgow and to help shape stronger responses to the current welfare reforms.

  • 4.45 - 5.30 Plenary discussion - next steps
  • 5.30 - 8.00 Food, music, films - carry on the conversation and build new links
Workshops topics include:
  • Welfare Reforms: understanding the changes and how we can challenge them
  • Local food in disadvantaged areas
  • Meeting emergency need: food banks and other models
  • Global perspectives on food justice
  • Social enterprise and local food

The event is being held at the STUC building in Woodlands Road and will run from 2pm to 8pm. The event is free to attend but we ask that you book your place to attend here
